FIRST EVER INDO-US SUMMIT ON HIGHER EDUCATION

Model 2

From the days of Nalanda and Taxila and when young George Washington studied diligently by candlelight until today, the face of education has changed dramatically.

In celebration of its Golden Jubilee, the Indo-American Society (IAS) is proud to convene the first ever Indo-American Summit on Higher Education during 30, 31 July 2010 and 1 August 2010 at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.

In recognition of the changing face of modern higher education and to address the challenges faced by educationists, institutions and governments alike, the IAS aims to bring together individuals committed to taking education to its highest pinnacle.

The Summit will present participants with an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with key business, political and academic personalities at a national and international level and address important issues, particularly in regard to policy framing and regulations and international partnerships.

Its aim is to revolutionize current education paradigm by increasing access and enhancing quality of Indo-US Higher Education in the Global Economy.

Some of the issues to be addressed at the Indo-US Summit on Higher Education include:
  • Policy and Regulation in Higher Education
  • Emerging Directions
  • Overseas Investments
  • Innovative Partnerships
  • Faculty and Student empowerment
  • Community Colleges

The Summit will feature a panel of eminent luminaries and key personalities in the fields of education, business and governance.

The event will be inaugurated by Minister Kapil Sibal, Union Human Resource Development Minister. The Hon. Sam Pitroda, Chairman Knowledge Commission, will be the keynote speaker.

It is anticipated that the impact of the Summit will be felt long after the event is done, sparking collaborations between educational institutions, exchange programs involving students, faculty and researchers from both countries and creating opportunities unlimited, especially for B2B meetings.

It may even act as a springboard for a truly global university. Most of all, we hope the Indo-US Summit will set in motion currents of positive change felt the world over.
